My Philosophyzd_head.jpg

We are all inspired by different things - music, scenery, our loved ones, a line of poetry, something someone says or does.  When we live by our values, share our vision with others and show our passion - we inspire others and TOGETHER achieve great things.  And why can't that apply to our working lives as well as our personal lives?

I am passionate about working with individuals who want to achieve greater things in their work and need some support to gain more focus and clarity.  In fact, anyone with the entrepreurial spirit who wishes to develop new skills and grow in line with their values and core beliefs.

Professional Life

  • I set up Chartwell in 1991, following my return from the Far East, where I had been an HR manager for HSBC and run a training consultancy in Singapore.
  • My career path has been varied and includes teacher, trainer, business adviser and coach … production operative, shop assistant and betting office clerk!
  • Chartwell Coaching is based in the North West of England with clients around the UK

Biggest Risk

Leaving regular paid work to set up Chartwell, knowing nothing about self-employment, with no idea of what I really wanted to do, a Business Plan more like a fairy story - and no money. I just knew I wanted to be my own boss and followed my intuition that it would all be OK in the end... and it is!

Greatest Challenge

Developing Chartwell Coaching from a very vague concept to the successful business it is today Every day I really appreciate that taking a risk is sometimes the only way to make your vision a reality. I could not have done it without a huge support network, teaching me the true value of friendship.

My Inspiration

My son, who says and does the most amazing things which cause me to laugh aloud, gasp with shock and simply delight in his grasp of life.  I love the glorious Lakeland Fells, sailing and sharing a good meal and bottle of wine with friends!
